Hot Pink Feathers + As Is Brass Band (videos)
Last night I went to the Hot Pink Feathers‘ 5-year anniversary burlesque show and got a prime spot to take video; the show was at 12 Galaxies, which many of you might know is named for and dedicated to local icon Frank Chu. The As Is Brass Band finished the show, and they were awesome. The videos are shameless celebrations of good music and happy bouncy boobs; as my friend Anna concluded thorugh her various scientific processes after we watched the second dance set, boobs are endlessly fascinating.
I think As Is Brass is one of the best bands in the Bay Area, and I finally got the video to prove it. After the jump watch the four videos I took — one with a very special cameo appearance by Frank Chu.
Here’s the opening Hot Pink Feathers routine, which shows how they blend samba and burlesque seamlessly, and you can see why theyre so well-received at Carnival:
This is one of those perfect SF moments, with sexy dancing girls and a Frank Chu cameo:
As Is Brass Band, doing what they do best — excellent brass music:
This was the finale, with Hot Pink Feathers dancers doing a routine to an As Is song:
