Put On Your High Heeled Sneakers

Just because we are down in the South Bay doesn’t keep our men from playing dress up. Especially if it is for a good cause like this years YWCA’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes.”

At last year’s walk I was one of the many women in the crowd offering words of encouragement to our local politicians, policemen, firemen and the man next door. With smiles on their faces they endured the pain of stuffing their feet into high heels and walking that mile to call awareness to the problem of sexual assault.

uh … how exactly does a cross-dressing parade raise awareness of sexual assault? do the men get sexually assaulted at the end? if anything, it’s only made me more aware of the cruelty of uncomfortable shoes.
