No peanuts or crackerjacks, but sweet seats none the less

giants

A friend offered me an extra ticket to the Giants game earlier this evening and since I’d never been to SBC Park, or seen the Giants for that matter I jumped at the chance. Turns out the tickets originated with someone who has mad connections and they were practically on the field as you can see from the phonecam shot above. Everyone to whom I mentioned that I was going to the game had the same thing to say about it – “Oh! They have great food there!” so I made sure to check that out as well. I can now confirm this since the fine folks at the snack bar hooked me up with the hugest pile of garlic fries I’ve ever seen, I can only assume to the dismay of everyone around me. It even stopped raining so they could actually play. I hopped in a taxi just before the end to beat the traffic and the cabbie told me that the city was vacant because everyone was at the game. I don’t know about the whole city, but the place was packed for sure. If you haven’t been to a game there it’s worth doing once at least just to see the place. Really. They have great food there.

as much as i hate the giants, there’s no denying that the SF ballpark is one of the best in the country. stunning view, shiny and new, and good eats to be sure. a bit on the pricey side, but that’s to be expected right (not that it still doesn’t bum me out – even their cheapest seats are too much for some families).
