Look! Planning! More than two days in advance!

Staring at your calendar and lamenting the lack of public holidays in the next few months? Or just flat-out eager to have some sort of excuse to drink excessively? Don’t need one? In any case, St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, and Irish or not, it’s certainly worth celebrating (what, you hate Irish people?!). If you’re looking to seem less like an “amateur drinking night” afficionado and more like someone who appreciates the heritage-related hoopla, perhaps the parade is worth a look-see:

When — March 12, 2006, 11:30 a.m.
Where — 2nd and Market to Civic Center Plaza
Why — Because you’re really interested in Irish culture

Feeling extra-enthused? Check out the Irish Festival (same day as the parade) at Civic Center Plaza, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As much as I hate parades I do love me the Irish and love me some Guiness and Murphys so I’ll have to check it out for sure! Thanks for the heads up.
