He spoke of a plan that would spend $222 billion on various infrastructure projects in our state.
Even though there is already a plan in place to ‘fix’ the Hetch Hetchy, a system that brings water to 2.4 million people in homes and businesses in the Bay Area, we need to consider the Governors plan to upgrade this state’s fragile levees.
The cost to rebuild the levy system will be considerable. However, if we wait for this disaster to happen the price tag will be far greater. The hardship it would bring in human suffering and the damage it could do to agriculture would be unbearable to imagine.
Have at least a three-day supply of water for each person in your home (that would be one gallon of water per day, per person)?
Have at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food?
Have a manual can opener?
Have a first aid kit that includes sterile gloves, sterile dressings, cleansing agent, antibiotic ointment, eyewash and a thermometer?
Have a flashlight and extra batteries?
Have a whistle (to signal for help), plastic sheeting and duct tape, garbage bags and plastic ties?
