		<description>I grew up in the Inland Empire and left during the transition period when orange groves were being replaced by homes. Yeah, that was a long time ago because there hasn&#039;t been an orange tree in Highland since 1980. 

My parents took the family to Highland once a month or so to visit relatives. I was in grade school and I still remember how drab Highland was. During summer it was real super hot, and this was before the smog years. There were occasional aircraft flying into/out-of Norton AFB. 

Well, that&#039;s about it. Highland is a do nothing place, but now that the town has raised a fuss, it could possibly put this red town on the map and a lot of other reds might follow. Who knows. Maybe the issue will just die out.

I&#039;ve lived in San Francisco ever since, and of course I don&#039;t think it&#039;s crazy. But Sandoval....I don&#039;t want to touch that!
