If every year you do the same old dinner and a show routine for Valentine’s Day I heard of something a little different: “Dissect A Heart” at the San Francisco Exploratorium. With the price of admission, in the Exploratorium’s Life Sciences department, there will be dissection demonstrations of cow and sheep hearts.

Saturday and Sunday, February 11 & 12 and Tuesday, February 14 Valentine’s Day
(Throughout the Day)

Members FREE; Adults (18-64) $13.00; University Students (with ID) $10.00; Senior Citizens (65+) $10.00; People with disabilities $10.00; Youth (13-17) $10.00; Children (4-12) $8.00; Children Under 4 FREE.

Faint of Heart?

Recchiuti Confections, at the Ferry Building Marketplace, has a dark chocolate truffle, infused with 2001 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs from Napa Valley.

In the Willow Glen area of the South Bay I found a pretty little shop called KUBO. (The Little House) There I picked up some Belgian chocolates, a lovely orchid and a candle. Look out, my husband!
