It’s A Bird … It’s A Plane …

Welcome to Fleet Week!!

So, I’m minding my own business … catching up on some emails … and what-the-hell-is-that-noise?

Ah, that’s right, the Blue Angels are doing “practice runs” over the City, Thursday around Noon. The Blue Angels are here, in conjunction with Fleet Week. So, out the the balcony (and subsequently up on the roof) I go with camera!!

Fleet Week is the Bay Area

I attend the University of San Francisco and I didn’t know that the Blue Angels were practicing today until I was hearing jet like sounds in my Art History class. After class, I was walking back to my dorm from Lone Mountain and saw the Blue Angels doing tricks and flying by. It was awesome!

They were buzzing Hastings too. Best cell phone excuse ever: “WHAT? WHAT? I’M SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU – THERE’S FIGHTER JETS OVERHEAD.”

Yes, the annoying sounds of the Blue Angels. As so elequoently said on The Simpsons, “America’s favorite waste of taxpayer dollars”. A government entertainment troupe that only rarely ends in disaster. Why not have a government-owned circus instead? Oh wait. I guess we already have that, too.
