Stoplight idea doesn’t seem very bright
Whose idea was it to put a new stoplight on 7th Ave? I never saw a traffic jam in that area before the light, but since we got it, the street is consistently backed up all the way to Lawton during rush hours. Was this just a standard pork project, or were there really that many people having trouble making left turns onto (or off of) Clarendon?
Personally, I would much rather see more roundabouts, and even outright anarchy within city limits.
Roundabouts are generally nice, but the ones they tried to put in on Page Street a few years ago were a disaster. There just wasn’t enough room on the street for a proper roundabout, and trucks (fire and ambulance in particular) couldn’t clear the intersections. It was a shame because it would have been much nicer to have some roundabouts with plants/trees in the center.
