Baby Boom
Beginning yesterday, CalTrain beefed up their service with ten more Baby Bullet trains, bringing their weekday train total to a whopping(?) 96! They have also added a few new stations to the Baby Bullet line: San Mateo, Redwood City, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale and Tamien (in San Jose).
CalTrain has also added “Timed Transfer” trains which provide riders with better access to limited stop trains (different from the Bullets).
I was quite excited to learn of the changes, but unfortunately, the new stops and schedule don’t quite work for me. There is a small window of time in which I need to catch a shuttle from the station to the office, and only one train seems to arrive around that time. When I miss that one particular train or shuttle, I’m screwed. The train that used to arrive at the right time for the shuttle is now a Bullet train, BUT for reasons unknown, it now doesn’t stop in Sunnyvale! ARGH!
Why oh why can this not work well for me? I love taking the train, and they aren’t scheduling this in a way that works best for me. I guess it’s working well for others so far… sigh.
