OMI (Ocean View-Merced Heights-Ingleside) is a group of neighborhoods south of Twin Peaks and where the fog hangs out in the Summer. The OMI neighborhoods are The Sunset, Richmond, West Portal, St. Francis Wood, Forest Hill, Balboa Terrace, Westwood Park, Parkside, Golden Gate Heights, Parkway Terrace, Sea Cliff, Presidio Terrace, Ingleside, Ocean View, Merced Heights, Lakeside, Parkmerced, Stonestown, Lakeshore, Ingleside Terraces, and Jordan Park. The ‘hoods that aren’t on the tourist maps.
A renovation to the MUNI line took over Ocean Ave in Ingleside for quite some time in 2002, and it drove a lot of commerce away from the area. Since the MUNI line has been finished people have been slowly coming back. The renovation included cobalt blue street lights that look amazing from an elevated view. There are a couple of fantastic coffee shops to get a yummy sandwich, coffee products for coffee snobs (like myself), and free Wi-Fi. The first is the Bahia Caf
