Size! Size!

Daniel, Anika and I discovered a strange industrial concrete hole of frightenly enormous proportions… not far of the Golden Gate scenic view point.

I would be interested in filling the structure with wood, charcoal and a couple of gallons of gasoline to create the largest Beach BBQ pit of the known world.
Too bad I’m only in town until July 23.
Bay Area citizens! Please carry my cunning plan into execution!

    That hole was one of two casemates built at Ft. Funston between 1936 and 1939 as part of Battery Richmond P. Davis to house two enormous (146-ton) 16-inch guns to protect the Golden Gate, when it was thought that San Francisco was vulnerable to attack by battleships.
