My office is about half a block from SBC Park so game days are incredibly annoying for us. Mind boggling amounts of baseball fans descend on our neck of the woods as if their only purpose was to drink beer and stand unmoving on the sidewalks staring at their feet. Not to mention the scalpers. So when we try and escape the throngs it’s only fitting that we get stuck on Muni because of a downed control computer for what seemed like days. What’s a geek to do? Why not bust out your laptop and steal some wifi as demonstrated by my co-worker Tantek. There are so many hotspots along the Embarcadero that you can pretty much stay connected from the ballpark to the tunnel if you hop spots. We finally made it to the Castro for the grueling hike over 17th street to Cole Valley after several hold ups and enduring a very very confused but chatty train driver. Ah game days… And just think, it’s only the beginning!
