Lord Byron drank vinegar to lose weight.

Well, folks, tonight is quiz night at the venerable Edinburgh Castle at 950 Geary.

You may know this pub solely for its proximity to the Great American Music Hall. You may consider it a stop on the journey, but not the destination itself. Tonight, I challenge you to reconsider.

Last week, on our way to see Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, the boy and I stopped by the Castle for some Beamish and a couple of newspapers full of fish and chips. But when we consented to join the couple who kindly allowed us to sit at their table in their quiz quest, we were barely able to drag ourselves away. Luckily, we did arrive at GAMH in time to see ol’ Teddy and his very hairy band, but the Castle Quiz has haunted us all week.

So, we’ll be there, a bit before 8:30, in time to grab a seat and put in our order for fish and chips (interestingly, from Old Chelsea, a chip shop around the corner on Larkin). Why not join us?
